It’s time for the 5th Annual Cranksgiving Philadelphia Charity Ride! Benefitting Philabundance, this event’s purpose is to collect food to help provide a Thanksgiving dinner to families that wouldn’t normally get one. Started in New York City in 1999, this ride involves collecting food at grocery store “checkpoints”. All of the food purchased by riders will then be donated to Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger relief organization.
What to Bring? A bike, a helmet, a lock, a bag (or basket or rack or cargo bike) to carry the food, and at least $15-20 to purchase food items along the way. This is a charity event dedicated to helping feed the hungry so generosity is STRONGLY encouraged!
Last year we had 100 participants collecting over 1 TON of food, so this year our goal is to….get a lot more riders and food than that! Keep checking back as more details about the ride are updated!
